Configure QR codes

Requirements

Before you begin this guide, make sure your system meets the following requirements:

  • PHP version: 8.1+.
  • PHP GD library: Installed and active on your server to make possible the image generation.
  • PHP Imagick library: Installed and active on your server to make possible the image generation. This library is used to generate QR codes with custom colors and gradients.

The GD library is required in order to generate QR codes. The Imagick library is optional, but recommended if you want to further customize your QR codes with advanced styles. If these libraries are not available on your server, you can contact your hosting provider to install and activate them.

Configuration

You will find the Email notifications settings on your WordPress admin area navigating to the ShortLinks Pro menu -> Settings -> QR Codes.

To display all available customization options, the Imagick library must be installed and enabled on your server. If it’s not available, only the size configuration option will be shown.

Size: The desired pixel size for your QR code. Default value is 500px.

Error Correction Level: Choose between Low, Medium, Quartile, or High. Higher levels increase the chance of successful scanning, even with damage or distortion, but also make the code more dense.

Color Mode: It will display the QR with a single color or gradient.

  • Single color: One single foreground color.
  • Gradient color: Two colors blended together for a gradient effect. This will enable Foreground Color 2 to select a second color and create the gradient.

Foreground Color: This is the primary color of the QR code.

Foreground Color 2: Only visible when using Gradient mode. Select the second color to complete the gradient.

Custom Eye Colors: Toggle this switch ON to manually pick colors for the corner “eyes” of the QR code.

Background Color: The color behind the QR code.
